The Pollock-Krasner Foundation provides unrestricted grants to exceptional visual artists to support the continued development of their work and enable them to meaningfully pursue their practice. Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis.

  • Are a professional visual artist
  • Work primarily in painting, sculpture, or works on paper (including printmaking)
  • Have an established professional exhibition and award history
  • Are actively exhibiting current work in professional gallery and museum settings
  • Submit artwork completed within the past 10 years
  • Have a minimum of 10 exhibitions within the past 10 years at professional galleries, museums, or recognized exhibition spaces
  • Students or artists seeking funding for academic study
  • Artists working primarily in photography, video or film, performance art, graphic or commercial art, illustration, craft, or generative art/AI-generated art
  • Grant amount: Up to $50,000, based on individual circumstances, with most grants in the range of $35,000
  • Use of funds: Unrestricted
  • Grant period: Intended for one year
  • Application deadline: None (rolling application)

  • Current resume or CV, including exhibition history
  • 10 digital images of recent work
  • Corresponding image identification list
  • Contact information for three professional references
  • Applications are reviewed by a panel of experienced art professionals
  • All complete applications are acknowledged
  • The application process typically takes 9–12 months
  • Applicants may be contacted if additional information is needed
  • Previous grantees must wait 2 years after their grant period ends
  • Artists who were declined must wait 2 years from their last application submission date
  • Reapplications must include new images not previously submitted
