Overview

An online class to explore creativity through play with instructor Precious Burger, a contemporary mixed-media artist. Through live guided sessions, you'll explore creativity through play—letting go of fear and reconnecting with joy, curiosity, and creative flow in a supportive, encouraging space. Each session blends gentle guidance, hands-on creative exploration, and meaningful conversation. This small-group format (max. enrollment of 12) is intentionally designed to foster connection, reflection, and a deeper creative experience.

The Joyful Journey Playbook is for you if you crave more joy, play, and freedom in your creative life; want to explore art without pressure, judgment, or doing it right; feel curious about creativity but want a gentle, guided starting point; enjoy hands-on creative exploration; are looking for a meaningful, uplifting experience; or want to reconnect with creativity as a source of joy, calm, and possibility.

Program Structure

• EXPLORE – Curiosity without pressure: Step into creativity with openness and curiosity. You'll explore new ways of thinking, seeing, and responding—without expectations, judgment, or the need to get it "right."
• PLAY – Freedom, joy, and experimentation: Through playful, guided art-making, you'll reconnect with creativity as a source of joy and possibility. This is a space to experiment, loosen up, and let play lead the way.
• CREATE – Meaningful expression and insight: As the journey unfolds, you'll create from a place of intention and reflection—discovering insights, personal meaning, and creative momentum you can carry forward into your life and work.

About the Instructor

Precious Burger is a contemporary mixed-media artist based in Fairfax, Virginia, known for her vibrant, intuitive paintings that explore resilience, identity, and human connection. With over 30 years of experience as an educator, she has worked with learners of all ages and experience levels, fostering creativity through curiosity, play, and process-driven exploration. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Washington, DC, region, including a solo exhibition at the National Institutes of Health, and is held in both residential and commercial collections, with representation by Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
