Wild Rose Farm offers intimate two-week artist residencies at an eco-friendly organic farm in Mulmur, Ontario. Each session accommodates four artists seeking inspiration, rest, or focused work time in a rural, peaceful setting. The historical 1839 log home residency building includes studio, greenhouse, covered outdoor porch, and barn spaces across rolling wooded hills in Dufferin County, 110 km northwest of Toronto near the Niagara Escarpment.

  • 2026: October 4–17 (Arrival Sunday after 3–5pm; Departure Saturday by 10am)
  • 2027: April 11–24, May 9–22, June 6–19, July 11–24, August 8–21, September 12–25, October 10–23

Private (double & queen) and shared (single) accommodation available. Healthy vegetarian meals provided; breakfast and lunch are self-serve in the country kitchen or outdoor eating areas. All meals and creative coaching/dramaturge services included in residency fee.

Working space provided. Farm, nature, and found objects available for use. Studio, greenhouse, covered outdoor porch, and barn spaces available. WiFi access available with limitations; cell phone usage limited to bedrooms; phone reception not always reliable.

Residents supported and encouraged but not required to interact with local artists and community members through talks, demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, or performances. During each two-week session, two special events are held: a community dinner with artists in residence and guest creatives in the first week, and a studio tour or performance event near the end for artists to showcase work and raise donations for a local arts charity.

  • Shared accommodation: $1,000/2 weeks
  • Private accommodation: $1,600/2 weeks
  • 50% deposit required upon booking; balance due one week before arrival
  • Full refund granted if replacement booking obtained; otherwise deposit forfeited

Artists responsible for own specialty foods, travel, personal expenses, and all creative materials (unless alternative arrangements made). Exceptions: found objects on site available; simple vegetarian meals provided. Guests and family members cannot stay. No smoking, drugs, or pets permitted (working animals welcome).
