Planned gifts are lasting and meaningful contributions that support the RMG's permanent collection, exhibitions, programming, and learning initiatives. Making a planned gift to the RMG will help fulfill the mission to build relationships with diverse artists and communities through art.

  • Making a gift in your will
  • Establishing a Named Endowment Fund as a permanent investment fund
  • Naming the RMG as a beneficiary in your retirement plan or life insurance policy
  • Promising a gift of artwork

The RMG welcomes the opportunity to discuss your estate plans. Anyone considering a planned gift is encouraged to consult with their personal financial and legal advisors before including the RMG in their will. If you already have a will, it is not too late to add a bequest through a codicil or amendment for a small legal fee.

Since the founding in 1967, the RMG's collection has continued to grow thanks to generous donations of artwork from collectors. If you have a piece or a collection that may be of interest, please refer to the Guide to Donations for frequently asked questions and submit the donation form.

RMG staff are not able to offer artwork identifications, financial appraisals, or valuations of objects. This policy is in accordance with the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Code of Ethics for Museums. Please contact The Art Dealers Association of Canada for assistance with appraisal needs.
