Overview
Cow House Studios is developing a permanent installation on the O'Gorman family farm in collaboration with Forerunner, a collaborative art practice founded by Tom Watt, Tanad Aaron, and Andreas Kindler von Knobloch. The forthcoming 2026 residency will accompany an open call for artists interested in learning from Forerunner's practice and collaborating to construct the new installation.
Residency Details
The initial residency took place over two weeks during spring and summer of 2024. In April, the artists explored the farm with directors and spoke with the farm owner about potential interventions. In June, Forerunner returned to propose a site-specific project to be completed in 2026 and led workshops at a local school exploring water channeling possibilities.
About Forerunner
Forerunner is a collaborative practice founded by Tom Watt, Tanad Aaron, and Andreas Kindler von Knobloch. They work with everyday and commonplace materials to architecturally interrogate fine art and specific objects. Their practice emphasizes production values and coherent composition, recently encompassing an interest in Arte Util and opportunities to critique or improve through fixing. They refer to their exhibitions as tests for the real world and future contexts.
