About
Overview
Singapore Art Museum announces 26 residents selected for Cycle 3 (2025/2026) from over 1,200 applications from more than 100 countries. The residency comprises 23 individuals, 2 duos, and 1 collective across three residency types: Artists, Community & Education, and Curatorial & Research. The fourth track, EX-SITU: Art Spaces residency, is by invitation only.
Residency Focus
Cycle 3 focuses on notions of allyship and solidarities, building alternative knowledges, and flowing and thinking in betweens. Residents are prompted to consider the role of art and the need for empathy amidst current realities, imbalances, over-visibilities, and states of porosity and liminality.
Location & Duration
The residency takes place at Singapore Art Museum's warehouse-turned-office and studios in the Tanjong Pagar Port area. Each residency spans one to six months during the cycle's run from June 2025 to December 2026.
Jury
Cycle 3 was juried by an international panel comprising Alfredo Jaar (artist, architect, filmmaker; New York), Miguel A. López (writer and curator; Lima/Mexico City), Pratchaya Phinthong (artist; Bangkok), and Shubigi Rao (artist and curator; Singapore), chaired by Haeju Kim, Senior Curator and Head (Residencies) at SAM.
