Overview
VIA Art Fund's Artistic Production Grants support new artistic commissions that take place outside museum or gallery walls, within the public realm, or in non-traditional exhibition environments. Grants are awarded twice annually to individual artists, nonprofit organizations, and institutions working in contemporary art.

Eligibility
Individual artists, nonprofit organizations, and cultural institutions working in contemporary art. Projects must have a confirmed artist and exhibition venue at LOI submission. If project takes place in the US, artist may be based in US or internationally; if artist is based internationally, project must take place in US. If venue is outside US, artist must be based in US. Organizations must provide proof of nonprofit status and letter of support from hosting venue.

- Performing arts presentations (theater, opera, ballet, musical compositions)
- Youth education programs
Application Requirements (Letter of Inquiry)
Artists must submit: full name, address, phone, email; two-page project description as letter with venue details and artist statement; balanced project budget; project timeline; updated CV and website link; and funding request amount. Organizations must submit: organization name, address, phone, email; two-page project description identifying artist(s) and commissioned artwork; balanced budget and current annual operating budget; project timeline; and proof of nonprofit status.
Reapplication Rules
- Previous grantees must wait 3 full years from last grant award to reapply
- Previous applicants invited to full application must wait 1 year to reapply
- Previous LOI applicants cannot resubmit same project but may submit different project in next cycle
Award Process
Eligible projects submit Letter of Inquiry for Fall or Spring cycles. Projects of interest are invited to submit full application. Applications reviewed by staff and VIA Partners. Finalist artists and curators present at semi-annual Partners Meeting. Final awards decided by democratic vote by VIA Partners. Award notifications sent within two weeks of Partners Meeting.
