About
Submit your project proposal, online portfolio or 5–6 work images, and application details to apply for a customized ceramics residency focusing on slab building.
Overview
Aviário Studio offers a customized ceramics residency program promoting exploration and production in slab building in clay. The program accommodates both experimentation and consolidation of artistic projects. Residencies can be moments of transition for research and learning new techniques, or points of consolidation for producing new bodies of work.
Residency Length & Program Types
Residencies range from 2 weeks to 6 months. Please note that ceramics residencies must be at least 3 weeks. Participants can choose from Self-directed, Guided Art, or Assisted Production Residency formats, customized according to the artist's goals regarding duration, outcome, and focus.
Eligibility
Open to artists based anywhere in the world at any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, established). Artists must be over 21 years old at the time of arrival. Spouses/partners are allowed for the full stay (non-collaborators), and children are allowed for the full stay. Collaborative applications may apply as a team but must apply and be accepted individually. Pets are not allowed.
Housing & Facilities
Housing is a private bedroom in a shared housing facility on campus. The residency includes accommodation in a shared house and studio access during opening hours (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Equipment available includes electric wheels, electric kilns (1260° and 1050°), and access to workshops and equipment according to each participant's experience.

- 2 weeks - 600 €
- 3 weeks - 900 €
