Artists and collectives worldwide are invited to submit textile or textile-referencing works for the Textile Art Biennial BIEN 2027, a triennial exhibition taking place across four Slovenian cities. Selected artists will be considered for residency awards.

  • Submission deadline: 21 December 2026
  • Exhibition: 29 May – 14 August 2027
  • Award announcement: 29 May 2027 (opening in Kranj)

Three works no more than three years old, primarily created in textiles or media that reference textiles through material, technique, or concept. All works must be thematically aligned with 'Traces of Grace.' Only online submissions are accepted.

Open to artists and artist collectives from around the world. Students and artists at risk receive a fee waiver. The ETA Award is for artists under 29 demonstrating exceptional textile craft techniques.

  • Main award: up to 4-week residency in Kranj (2028 or 2029) including travel, accommodation, per diem, and production costs
  • ETA Award (international): two-week residency in Kranj
  • ETA Award (national): one-week residency at Lottozero textile laboratory in Prato, Italy

Textile Art Biennial BIEN covers all presentation costs including insurance, promotion, publicity, previews, unpacking and repacking artwork, and additional installation costs.
