Ana María Gómez López, MFA from Yale University School of Art, is an artist-in-residence for the 2018/19 year group.

  • 1 February - 1 July

The project centers on self-experimentation, a long-standing tradition where physicians and other scientists test remedies, treatments, and prototypes on themselves. This form of single-subject research can overlap with artistic processes such as durational performance, where artists carry out activities with their body for hours, days, even years at a time. Alternative Channels surveys the embodied research of practitioners working across scientific and artistic disciplines, examining self-experimentation as a site of connection between creative and scholarly forms of inquiry.
