Overview

The Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival is a two-day celebration of community and tradition presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces. Held in Historic Fourth Ward Park, this outdoor festival features fine arts and crafts, children's activities, local food and beverage, and live acoustic entertainment.

Eligibility & Participation

Open to all artists. Minimum 4 images required to apply. Late applications may be accepted at the discretion of the Director and included on the Wait List.

Media & Categories

• 2-D Mixed Media (collage, papermaking, encaustic, pen and ink, paint, pencil, watercolor, photography)
• 3-D Mixed Media (mosaic, papier mâché, clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, or other 3-dimensional objects)
• Ceramics (earthenware, porcelain, raku)
• Digital Art (computer-manipulated 2-D images)
• Drawing & Printmaking (pen, pencil, charcoal, pastels, chalk, pulled plates, linoleum, etching, engraving, silkscreen, lithography; all prints must be signed and numbered)
• Fiber (basketry, batik, weaving, papermaking, knitting, quilting; embellishment of manufactured materials not permitted)
• Glass (blown, fused, stained, cast, molded; embellishment of manufactured materials not permitted)
• Handicraft (handmade items from manufactured, recycled, or repurposed materials; complete description required)
• Jewelry (crafted from metal, glass, stone, clay, or other materials; commercial molds or casts not permitted; at least 50% of organic materials must be produced by the artist)
• Metal (functional and non-sculptural works)
• Painting (oils, acrylics, watercolors, tempera suitable for hanging)
• Photography (prints, transparencies, or digital images from artist's original negative or digital camera, processed by the artist)
• Sculpture (3-D work in any medium)
• Wood & Furniture (built, turned, carved, or tooled original wood; embellished manufactured wood items not permitted)

Prohibited Items

• T-shirts and commercial clothing
• Posters
• Manufactured toys
• Commercially manufactured or reproduced items (resale)
• Jewelry made from more than 50% manufactured components
• Items employing commercially available molds or patterns

Fees

Non-Refundable Administrative Processing Fee: $30.

• Water provided for artists Saturday and Sunday
• Booth Sitters available during event hours upon request (if available)
• Designated Festival Hotline during event hours for assistance, emergencies, questions, and concerns
• 24-hour on-site security
• Off-site artist parking available; on-street parking in surrounding neighborhood; paid parking options for guests and artists

Festival Policies

• No-Show Policy: Artists not checked in or called Festival Emergency Number by Friday 7:00 pm will be considered "no-show" with no refund; space forfeits to wait-list artist
• Rain or Shine: Event proceeds in all weather; no rain date; fees non-refundable for inclement weather
• Sales Tax: Artists responsible for collecting and reporting 8% sales tax (Georgia 4%, Fulton County 3%, City of Atlanta 1%); documents provided at check-in
• Wait List: Maintained; selected artists may be contacted when released one day prior to event date
