Overview
The Artist-in-Residence Programme at MuseumsQuartier in Vienna (MQ AiR) is part of ERSTE Foundation's and tranzit's long-term endeavour to support contemporary art and strengthen the situation of its creators in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Since 2019, the programme includes partnerships with Igor Zabel Association and Kontakt. Art Collection.
Who May Apply
Artists and curators from Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Croatia working in the field of contemporary art.
Programme Details
The residencies are designed to allow participants to take a break from everyday production pressure and concentrate on a specific research interest. Participants live and work for two months in studios at MuseumsQuartier in Vienna.
Award
Each residence grants a monthly stipend of EUR 1,300.
About tranzit
tranzit is a network of five independent, non-profit organisations in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovak Republic. Since 2002, tranzit has been developing artistic and cultural activities with a critical approach, fostering permanent dialogue between local and global culture.
