Art Volt Application Preparation Program 2025

Program Overview

An expanded application preparation program designed to support recent Fine Arts alumni in developing strong, competitive applications for grants, residencies, exhibitions, and more. Through workshops, peer review sessions, and guided work time, participants will gain tools and strategies to write and assemble compelling applications. The program encourages building sustainable peer support networks and connecting with other arts professionals.

Eligibility

• Must have graduated from Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts within the last three years
• Must not be currently enrolled in any education program at Concordia or elsewhere
• Must be available to attend all workshops and work sessions listed in the program schedule
• Applicants welcome to apply as a collective if all members meet eligibility criteria

What You'll Receive

Each participant will attend workshops led by experienced mentors and facilitators. At the end of the program, participants will be paired with a mentor and receive 4 hours of personalized one-on-one support to help revise and finalize an application of their choice. Participants who complete the program will receive an honorarium of $375.

Key Dates

• Information session: Tuesday, September 16th at 12pm (virtual)
• Application deadline: Monday, September 29th, 2025 at 5:00 PM EST
• Program runs: November 3rd, 2025 through December 4th, 2025
• Personalized mentorship: December 2025 to January 2026
• Notification: Four to three weeks prior to program start date

Program Schedule

• Week One (Nov 3-6): Intro Session, Bios & Statements workshop, How to Find and Fund a Residency workshop (optional), Peer Coworking Session (optional)
• Week Two (Nov 10-13): Artist CVs, Bios & Statements work session, Writing Your Project Proposal workshop, Peer Coworking Session (optional)
• Week Three (Nov 17-20): Project Proposals work session, Building Your Project Budget workshop, Peer Coworking Session (optional)
• Week Four (Nov 24-27): Budgeting work session, Portfolio & Support Materials workshop, Peer Coworking Session (optional)
• Week Five (Dec 1-4): Portfolio & Support Materials work session, Introduction to the Funding Landscape workshop (optional), Closing Session

Application Criteria

Eligible applicants must have graduated from Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts within the last three years, not currently be enrolled in any education program at Concordia or elsewhere, and be available to attend each workshop and work session. Participants will be selected based on feasibility and clarity of application. The selection committee will strive for balanced representation of diverse communities and practices.
