About
Fellowship Overview
Artist-in-residence fellowship for media artist Arnold Hoogerwerf, an interdisciplinary artist working with audiovisual installations, music for theatre and film, and collaborative projects across theatre, media art, and music.
Research Focus
The supernormal: investigating Niko Tinbergen's concept of the supernormal stimulus and its effects on human behavior, with particular focus on implications for art, art theory, and art education. This builds on the artist's prior project De meeuwen van Tinbergen.
Residency Details
During the fellowship, the artist will establish an interdisciplinary dialogue between scientists, artists, and art theorists. Findings, questions, and responses will be documented on a weblog maintained throughout the fellowship.
