Artist-in-residence fellowship for media artist Arnold Hoogerwerf, an interdisciplinary artist working with audiovisual installations, music for theatre and film, and collaborative projects across theatre, media art, and music.

The supernormal: investigating Niko Tinbergen's concept of the supernormal stimulus and its effects on human behavior, with particular focus on implications for art, art theory, and art education. This builds on the artist's prior project De meeuwen van Tinbergen.

During the fellowship, the artist will establish an interdisciplinary dialogue between scientists, artists, and art theorists. Findings, questions, and responses will be documented on a weblog maintained throughout the fellowship. Research outcomes are planned for publication in an illustrated book in cooperation with Jap Sam Books.
