We-Che Art Residency is an artist-run project in the heart of Patagonia near Trevelin, Chubut, Argentina, offering a natural workspace backed by protected landscape, 2 hectares of property crossed by a river, and close to Los Alerces National Park. The residency welcomes all creators and writers whose projects fit the space and vision, emphasizing connection between art and nature.

Residencies range from 1 week to 2 months. Available slots: mid-February to end of April 2026 (spring, changing colors); October 2026 (5 million tulip field); first two weeks of December 2026 (summer).

Open to artists of any stage of career based anywhere in the world. Collaborative teams may apply but each member must apply and be accepted individually. Pets are not allowed.

All creative disciplines welcome, including: book arts, documentary, drawing, environmental arts, fiction, film, illustration, interdisciplinary arts, journalism, literary work, mixed media, moving image, music, painting, paper arts, philosophy, photography, poetry, sculpture, sound art, storytelling, textile & fiber arts, visual arts, woodworking, and writing.

  • General AIR program: $350 USD per week or $1,300 USD per month per resident
  • Special BOOK project: $1,600 USD minimum (1 month), extra weeks $350 USD
  • Fee includes: housing, workspace, tools, facilities, basic supplies, access to eclectic library, cleaning, private bedroom and bathroom, fresh bedding and towels weekly, Wi-Fi, heating, water, electricity, and gas
  • Studios: private and shared studios available
  • Equipment: printers, scanners, easels, drawing benches, book arts facilities, light tables, woodworking tools

Optionally include a PDF with a brief project description, images of related works, website/Instagram links, or other relevant information. In your application, state your preferred residency dates and an alternative. All submissions are reviewed by committee; shortlisted candidates are invited to a WhatsApp video call.
