About the Program
Arts District Liberty Station (ADLS) has supported tenant-driven initiatives since 2019 through dedicated funding opportunities. These funds are offered as Micro Grants to help individual tenant organizations bring bold ideas to life, as well as Collaborative Grants that encourage two or more tenants to come together on a shared project. Selected projects receive funding to bring new ideas, performances, workshops, and exhibitions to life across the campus.
Micro Grants
Micro Grants provide tenants with the peace of mind often needed to plan and host events while running a business. Selected projects have included funds for Grand Openings, First Friday Activations, Dance Movement Labs, Art Workshops, Summer Camp Scholarships, Artist Talks, Improv Workshop Series, Holiday Celebrations, and more.
Collaborative Grants
Tenants are encouraged to collaborate and build partnerships that spark creative, innovative, and experiential projects, strengthening connections across Liberty Station. Collaborative initiatives highlight the diversity of the Arts District community while strengthening partnerships between artists, organizations, and audiences. Projects have explored themes such as cultural identity, community healing, interdisciplinary collaboration, youth education, and cross-border artistic exchange.
Eligibility
Open to Arts District Liberty Station tenants. Micro Grants serve individual tenant organizations; Collaborative Grants require two or more tenants to partner on a shared project.

- Musical Playground (Apt 4 Music & San Diego Craft Collective) | June 2025: Interactive installation exploring rhythm and sound using instruments made from upcycled materials.
- Fiber Fest (San Diego Craft Collective, Apricot Yarn & Supply, Visions Museum of Textile Arts) | June 2025: Celebrations of natural textiles and sustainability through demonstrations, crafting stations, workshops, and community art projects.
- Stitching Stories: What Is Home? (Visions Museum of Textile Arts & San Diego Writers, Ink) | Fall 2025: Interdisciplinary workshop combining poetry, textile art, and video performance to explore the meaning of home.
