Overview
The Ross-Roberts Fund for the Arts awards grants to celebrate, promote, and support the arts in Northern Virginia. This fund is part of the Permanent Fund for Northern Virginia and supports organizations focused on performing and visual arts.
Eligibility
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations providing charitable or educational services in performing or visual arts. Organizations must serve Northern Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties, plus the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, and Manassas/Manassas Park). Local, state, and federal government entities are not eligible.
Grant Amounts
- Budgets under $100,000: $5,000 grants
- Budgets under $500,000: $10,000 grants
- Budgets above $500,000: $20,000 grants
Eligible Uses
Grants support program or general support purposes. Funding may be used to support, expand or enhance existing programs or to start new programs. Applications for capital improvements, endowments, or scholarship awards will not be considered.

Application Requirements
Apply through the online Grants Portal. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Only one application per organization will be considered. Organizations that have applied previously should access their existing organizational profile rather than creating a new one.
