About
Overview
Financial assistance for the circulation of works, shows, or exhibitions within Quebec. The program supports a wide range of activities across all eligible disciplines through nine components, with the goal of generating exposure for artists and curators, extending the lifespan of works, and growing audiences.
Eligible Applicants
Professional artists from all CALQ-supported disciplines and independent curators recognized in visual arts, arts and crafts, architectural research, digital arts, and film and video art. Must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, normally resident in Quebec for at least the preceding 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Have participated in at least one production independent of or subsequent to education, presented in a context recognized by peers (circus arts, multidisciplinary arts, popular song, film and video art, storytelling, dance, music, or theatre); OR
- Have disseminated a work or body of work publicly at sites or in a context recognized by peers (digital arts, visual arts, arts and crafts, or architectural research); OR
- Have published at least one book or three texts in a literary genre eligible for CALQ in a context recognized by peers. Electronic publications and self-published works are eligible.
Project Requirements
- Application must be submitted at least four weeks before project start
- Must include written confirmation from at least one recognized venue indicating project dates and presentation terms
- Project must include at least three presentations or require a five-night stay away from home (except for promotional presentations
Funding
Maximum funding covers up to 75% of the total project cost.

Important Notes
- Only individuals carrying out activities on their own are eligible; shareholders of corporations or employees of non-profits may apply only for personal projects not part of organizational activities
- In music and popular song, assistance is aimed specifically at entrepreneurial artists and complements SODEC's activities
- A project cannot be supported by both CALQ and SODEC
- A context recognized by peers does not include university research and academic publishing milieus
